Let's discover the Maremma region together!

Follow me, let's uncover Maremma ...

This fertile area encompasses southern coastal Tuscany and northeastern Lazio mountains and it's been treasured in secret by generations of vacationing Italian families, mine included.

Guests will stay in my family’s vacation home in Maremma’s secluded coastal spot, Ansedonia. Built in 1956 for my grandfather, the villa, named Il Patio after the central open air room around which it develops, overlooks blue Mediterranean sparkles and verdant marshes and hills. Its walls resonate with the love and affection of a family coming together year after year for the past 4 generations. Guests have said that stepping into Villa Il Patio is like “walking into water” and “living between the sea and the sky”.

For 8 days during the early or late summer, my sisters and I will open the doors of this magical coastal retreat to a small group of 12 and guide their immersion into the local food, life and culture.

Throughout the stay there will be 4 to 5 lessons in the airy family kitchen, to learn how to cook to the tune of what Maremma’s soil has to offer and become familiar with both its coastal and inland cuisines.

When not gathered around the table to enjoy the fruits of our labors, we will be chasing the sun while visiting producers, markets and restaurants, we will bike trough natural reserves, frolic on beaches, enjoy aperitivi in local piazzas and explore the history, life and nature of Maremma.
